GUATEMALA 2023 SPRING BREAK
 
Dates: March 11-17, 2023
 
Cost: $1,400 (airfare included; however, price can change based on airfare)
 
*$1,250 for applicants who turn in the $100 deposit on or before the Sept. 28, 2022, deadline.
 
Location: Esperanza De Vida, Llano Verde, Rio Hondo, Zacapa, Guatemala, C.A.
 
 
 
WHAT WE WILL DO
 
Firehouse will be journeying to Guatemala again this year during Spring Break. We will be partnering with a ministry called Hope of Life, or in Spanish “Esperanza De Vida”, to minister and bring the Good News of Jesus to the people of Guatemala.
 
During this trip, students will have the opportunity to serve in an orphanage, elderly home, local elementary schools, local churches and villages, as well as visit a few of the churches that previous teams from our church have served in planting in the jungle areas of the country.
 
Most of the places we will serve will speak primarily Spanish, but in the jungle villages, we will encounter mostly a Mayan language, called Kekchi.
 
 
HOW TO SIGN UP
 
In order to sign up for this trip, you must have filled out the online application, have turned in a notarized medical release form to the main FBCMI church office, and submitted the first deposit of $100 by September 28, 2022. For the online registration form, click HERE.
 
 
TRIP PAYMENT SCHEDULE
 
FOR APPLICANTS WHO MEET THE SEPT 18TH DEADLINE. Make checks payable to FBCMI or pay online HERE.
 
  • Wednesday, Sep 28th: $100 deposit for airfare due TODAY (Deadline to register)
  • Wednesday, Dec 14th: $350 due
  • Wednesday, Jan 18th: $400 due
  • Wednesday, Feb 15th: $400 due
  • TOTAL: $1,250 due (total can vary based on airfare)
NORMAL PAY SCHEDULE - AFTER SEPT. 18, 2022. Make checks payable to FBCMI or pay online HERE.
 
  • After Wednesday, Sep 28th: $200 deposit for airfare (Deadline to register)
  • Wednesday, Dec 14th: $400 due
  • Wednesday, Jan 18th: $400 due
  • Wednesday, Feb 15th: $400 due

ALL PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. If you do not pay for your total trip cost, you will not be allowed to participate. Please notify us ASAP of any financial questions/issues!
 
 
FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES
 
Multiple BBQ lunch fundraisers are held after church at FBCMI on Sundays that students can help serve food and run the event to earn money for their trip. There are sign ups for this on our website usually posted 2 weeks before each BBQ. Check out our “Help A Student” link for the sign up form as it posts.
 
Rent a student is for students to be connected with church members at FBCMI who need help in their yards or around their homes and are willing to help students earn money for missions in exchange. Prayer / Support Letters are encouraged for each student. We ask them to write and mail letters to family and friends, letting them know about their trip and asking them to pray for them and if possible to financially support them as they raise money to go serve Jesus and the poor and hurting of Guatemala. Copies of sample prayer letters will be provided to team members at our first meeting.
